QTUM Doubles Once Again, Before Correction Time Hits

The all-time highs for altcoins achieved in the past two weeks took QTUM to above $75, before a mass correction pulled the prices down.
At its recent high point, QTUM stood above $75, having quadrupled its price in the past seven days. QTUM was low-priced for a long period, but shot upward from the $12 range toward $75.
The driver of growth this time may be an inflow of Bitcoin into select altcoins that have been underpriced for a long time. As BTC prices have reached a peak, other digital assets are attracting attention, for a higher potential for faster growth. The top 20 assets as well as some sub-penny assets are shooting forward in search for "the new Bitcoin".

QTUM trades at a premium against the Korean Won, and much of the liquidity comes from Bithumb and Coinone.
QTUM is appealing for being an "ecosystem token", a similar type as Stellar and WAVES, having a proprietary blockchain built over the Bitcoin protocol. QTUM plans to allow lightweight business-grade distributed applications, while offering a secure proof-of-stake network. QTUM is one of the coins to compete with Ethreum as the next-generation blockchain.
Until recently, however, QTUM lagged to NEO, which had a more prominent public profile. But QTUM caught up within days, to reach the same price range. Now, QTUM lines up as the next promising Chinese blockchain project.
QTUM is seen as a hot investment opportunity in Korea, trading still at a premium above $70 on Bithumb. The coin is almost unaffected by the US market, explaining its independent rise and peak prices against BTC. 
And while altcoins seem to be booming together, some of the assets have a different investor base and a different logic in support, independent of the inflow of US dollars. QTUM remained flat for about two months before suddenly taking off, as altcoins finally shook off the September shocks and sharp drops in prices.

MoneyGram CEO Plans Waves With Ripple
